Supporting Release International

We were pleased to have Anthony Hall share at our Sunday service about the work of Release International in supporting persecuted Christians around the world. After church we gathered for a delicious meal of baked potatoes followed by trifle & fruit to raise funds to support the work of Release International. New Year

This year we are focusing in on discipleship, which is how we live as followers of Jesus Christ. Our text for the year is: Continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ – 2 Peter 3:18 (GNB) We started our year with a day of prayer for our community. On Sunday mornings & in our house groups we’re currently looking at the Prayer Course from HTB. We’re excited to see where the Lord will lead us this year.

Christmas is coming!

At Great Ashby Community Church we love to celebrate Christmas. We’re looking forward to Carol Singing, our Family Nativity, and the Traditional Carols by Candlelight Service. Take a look at the events page for full details. We hope that you can join us to celebrate the joy of the season.

Quizzing Fun

Fun was had by all at our recent Quiz Night with over £400 raised. The proceeds will be shared between The Living Room, an addiction rehabilitation center in Stevenage, and GACCMA, our charity for running the Great Ashby Community Centre. This was joint venture with the church and GACCMA, and builds on our success working together on the Great Ashby Festival.

We’re Moving

From Sunday 17th September we will be meeting at Great Ashby Community Centre. We will be meeting in the main hall for our usual worship service from 10.30am. The Sunday School will be meeting in the small hall. Our first Sunday in our new home is our Harvest Celebration. We’ll be collecting for Stevenage Food Shed. Please bring tinned food such as soup, fish, meat or fruit. Also tea, coffee, UHT milk & sugar. Following the service we will be having an international bring and share lunch.

Postcards to our neighbours

Over the next month we’ll be walking around Great Ashby praying for our neighbours and delivering welcome cards. If you’ve received one of our cards we’d love to see you. Our Sunday service is relaxed and friendly. Join us every Sunday at Round Diamond School at 10.30am for tea & coffee followed by worship.

New Minister

Great Ashby Community Church is pleased to welcome their new Minister. Laura Gimeno will be working at the church for the next 18 months as she completes her training as a Baptist Minister. She will join the church for Sunday worship at Round Diamond School (10.30am every Sunday).
