Mission Support

In the autumn of 2008 we applied to be a placement for a student from All Nations College in Ware. This college prepares and trains people who feel that God is calling them to go “To the ends of the earth” for him. We were delighted when Sharon Jones was placed with us for two years.

Over those two years Sharon made such a difference to the life of the church here in Great Ashby. She threw herself into all sorts of church activities. She preached, led worship, joined us in our Alpha course and  “Pudding Club”. She worked with us in cleaning up the car park outside  the Community Centre, she taught in our childrens' groups, got alongside individuals to share the gospel with them, was part of a team visiting on the estate, she ate with us, laughed with us, cried with us and prayed with us. She even compered our fair-trade fashion show.

In January 2011 Sharon returned to Peru to serve God with a mission organisation called Latin Link. She will be gone for quite a number of years although she will return home every three years or so and I am sure she will come to visit us.
