New Minister

New Minister

Great Ashby Community Church is pleased to welcome their new Minister. Laura Gimeno will be working at the church for the next 18 months as she completes her training as a Baptist Minister. She will join the church for Sunday worship at Round Diamond School (10.30am every Sunday). On Thursdays and Fridays each week she will be working at the Community Centre from the Chaplaincy Room and will be available to chat with anyone who drops by.

Having grown up in Stevenage and attended Barclay School as a teenager, Laura moved away from the town before Great Ashby was built. She is looking forward to getting to know the area, making new friends, and getting involved in the community. ‘Although I haven’t lived here for a few years, Stevenage is my home town. My grandparents moved here when the new town was first being built and I have fond memories of my childhood here. Quite a bit has changed since those days, but some things remain the same, such as Fairlands Valley and the nice traditional pubs in the High Street. Stevenage has always been a great place for community activities and I’m really looking forward to being part of the community here in Great Ashby and getting to know people.’

Laura lives with her husband, daughter and two cats. She is studying at Spurgeon’s College in South London. In her spare time she enjoys walking and watching mystery dramas on the TV.
