Letter from the vine

Dear friends,

Well, what a wonderful Easter celebration we have had this year even if it has been rather white! It was great to see Nikki being baptised and witnessing to her faith in Jesus Christ as we celebrated his glorious resurrection together. We are supposed to be moving into the summer now so let’s hope we have seen the last of the snow.

During the summer months I will be doing something a little different to normal. As from the beginning of June I will be taking a break from my usual duties at GACC and I will be starting a 3 month Sabbatical. Some of that time will be spent in study and reflection and some of it will be spent on a 30 day silent guided retreat in Wales. I am really looking forward to taking time out and doing something a bit different. One of you has called it “Sue’s holiday with God”. I think that’s a really good way of looking at it because what could be better than spending time with the one who loves us beyond measure. I will come back in September, hopefully refreshed and full of ideas!!!! (Perhaps I will like the silence so much that I will end up talking less and listening more in future... you never know!) I am also in two minds, to be honest, because I really don’t want to leave you lovely people... even if only for a few weeks. It’s unlikely that I will be coming regularly to GACC during that time although Martin will be with you and will, I’m sure, report back to me what’s been going on as I will be missing you all very much.

I will be praying for you all during that time that you, the church will continue to grow and to love and care for each other. If you have any matters which you want to talk to someone about, please speak to John or Bob or maybe one of the other trustees. In no time at all it will be September and we will be heading for Christmas once more!!!!

May I wish you all a wonderful, warm and sun blessed summer but, more than that, that you might be blessed by God who loves you and cares for you so much.
